The second quarter of 2018 finished in a spectacular way with John Stocker running for Team GB in one of the toughest ultra races – the Spartathlon in Greece. The race is 153 miles non-stop from Athens to Sparta, the added twist this year was the medicane Storm Zorba. Despite the conditions John came 6th out of 24th for Team GB and 60th from 381 race starters – an amazing achievement. He also made it into the newspapers in the run up to the race.
John had previously run the Bacchus marathon with Leanne, where there were 12 English wine stations on the route. Leanne also run the Chiltern Wonderland 50, achieving a massive PB for 50miles.
The last 3 months were also busy for a few of our customers.
Sammi Suter ran the Woodstock 12 and Cotswold Classic, finishing third in her age category at the Cotswold Classic.
Lawrence Webb completed the Woodstock 12, Kirtlington 10K and Headington 5; his T-shirt says it all 😉
Last but not least, the awesome trio – Clare Varney, Karen McGill and Tim McGill. In the last 3 months they have completed the Burnham Beeches 10K, Kirtlington 10K, Bedford 10K and Dorney Lakes 10K; that’s a lot of races.
The days may be getting shorter and colder, but there are sure to be lots of highlights to share for the last 3 months of 2018, including of course the Bicester Santa Fun Run sponsored by Evolve Health & Fitness. If you have not entered what are you waiting for, you can enter here.
