The year has got off to a fantastic start for so many of our members.
The Stocker family are leading by example – great inspiration. Following on from his success at the SPINE in January, John has gone from strength to strength with PBs in the Brighton Marathon and the Thames Path 100. Leanne got a PB in the New Forest Ultra 30 miles. Young Owen got a PB in his race at Brighton and also won member of the year at the Bicester Athletic Cross Country. Congratulations to the whole Stocker family!
Another family achieving great success in 2017 is the Barton Family. Rob Barton finished the Bicester Triathlon in 5th place and 1st in his age group, impressive for his first triathlon. Rob has also done the vertical rush challenge. Helen Keefe Barton completed the Milton Keynes Winter half marathon and has also obtained her personal training qualification. Great work Rob and Helen.
The OX5 Race had a fantastic turn out for Evolve runners, for some it was their first race and others achieved PBs. Congratulations to Darren Davis, Megan Greenwood, Ben Miles, Tom Smythe and Clare Varney.
There was also a good Evolve turnout at the New Forrest running festival. Gary Anderson completed his first Ultra, Caroline Oakes and Sue Manhood returned to running in the half marathon. Ed Peacock completed 20 miles in preparation for the Paris marathon, which he also completed despite an ankle sprain at mile 17!
Another race with a good turnout was the Milton Keynes spring half marathon. Special congratulations to Liz Bell and Clare Varney on achieving PBs, fantastic running also by Kate Peacock, Karen McGill and Sue Manhood.
Sue Manhood, who is going for a medal a month, also completed the Beaconsfield 5 miler on Easter Monday and has the Ridgeway Revenge lined up for June.
Finally but by all means not least, big congratulations to Lawrence Webb, who completed the Bicester Park Run in 29:10. An impressive achievement after recovering from a long injury.
Let us know how you get on in events, so we can celebrate your success with you and add you to our membership board and to the web updates.
Keep up the good work everyone, and keep a look out for the new Evolve Challenge starting in May.
